Frequently asked questions
Do you charge a key wait or late completion fee?
No. If you complete on moving day, we do not charge anything on top of what was advised in the quote.
On the very rare occasion that your solicitors fail to complete on the purchase of your new property then we will need to discuss the delivery of your belongings on another day. This may incur additional charges.
What will happen on the day of moving?
We usually aim to arrive for 8.30am as this allows us enough time to load your belongings in time for completion to occur. We work towards a deadline of 1pm to have finished loading but often we are done well before this.
This timing may change as it is dependent on the specific move and service being provided.
We try and load the upstairs belongings first and clear room by room. This will allow you to clean behind us if you wish.
Once loaded, we will travel to your new address and wait for completion of purchase and keys to arrive.
We will unload your belongings into the required rooms, reassemble any furniture that we dismantled and ensure you are comfortable in your new home.
How can I best help your team?
Tea and/or coffee is always well received by the team!
Ensure your belongings are packed well i.e. as many loose items as possible are in boxes and the lids taped shut. This assists in the loading of vans and ensures the safety of your belongings.
Labelling boxes as they are packed to inform the team on where you would like them placed in your new home i.e. “Lounge”, “Bedroom 1/2/3”, “Utility Room ”, “Kitchen”.
Be present as often as possible. We know the day can be stressful but being around to answer any questions the team might have will ensure the days runs smoothly.
Do you provide packing materials?
If we are packing your home then usually all packing materials will be included in your quote - Please check to confirm
this.
We can provide packing materials in addition to your move if you wish to pack your home yourself. We attach a pricing list to all quotes. Delivery of these items in the local area is free of charge.
What do I do with my boxes once they are unpacked?
We will collect used boxes for free in the local area. We try to reuse as many of our boxes as possible.
Please ensure all boxes are collapsed down for easy pick-up - we do not collect the paper, please recycle.
If we cannot collect your boxes, we advise they are taken to a local recycling centre.
How can I pay for my move?
Our preferred method of payment is via bank transfer.
We can provide a card payment link if required. All payment link are individual so please request one from us at the time of payment. Please note, we cannot take payment over the phone.
Do you take fixtures and fittings off of the wall?
No, unless prior agreement has been made at your survey - this is your responsibility to remove things like TV’s, curtain poles and such like
