Removals Case study

A Carefully Timed First Floor Flat Move in Exeter

We were recently asked to help a customer move from a first-floor flat in Princesshay, Exeter, to another first-floor flat elsewhere in the city. Although we specialise in house moves and removals in Exeter, the timing required careful planning due to the access requirements at Princesshay.

The building’s security team had a strict schedule in place, which meant we needed to arrive early, work efficiently and be off-site by 9 am. With that in mind, we planned the move within that time window from the outset, ensuring the team was ready to start as soon as access became available.

Working around Princesshay’s schedule

City centre moves often come with a few extra considerations, especially when access needs to be coordinated with building management or security teams. For this move, the key priority was keeping everything on schedule at the Princesshay property.

Our team arrived early and got straight to work, carefully moving the customer’s belongings out of their first-floor flat and loading everything efficiently. Thanks to good preparation and a focused team on the day, we were finished and off-site by 8:30 am, half an hour ahead of the required deadline.

An efficient move across Exeter

Finishing early gave the team a little breathing room before heading to the new property. In fact, there was even enough time to pick up a Costa from around the corner before continuing with the move across Exeter.

Although the distance between the two properties was relatively short, the second part of the job still needed the same level of care and organisation. The customer was moving into another first-floor flat, so the team made sure everything was unloaded steadily and placed where it needed to go.

Once we arrived at the new property, the team got back to work and completed the unload by 11 am. From start to finish, the move stayed well within the planned schedule, which helped make the day feel calm and straightforward for the customer.

Moves involving flats can often be more physically demanding due to stairs, access points, and shared building areas, but the team kept things moving smoothly throughout. By late morning, the customer’s belongings had been safely moved into their new Exeter flat.

A smooth service from start to finish

The customer was really pleased with how the move went and kindly shared some lovely feedback after everything was complete. They said: “Thank you for the great service today and for helping everything go so smoothly. The guys were so efficient and super friendly. We wouldn’t hesitate to book you again or recommend you to friends and family.”

It was a great example of a local move in the Exeter area –  where timing, teamwork and clear planning made all the difference. The team worked around the building’s access requirements, stayed ahead of schedule and helped the customer settle into their new home without any unnecessary stress.
