Full House Move From Epsom to Honiton
A trusted team for a second family move
Our latest project involved helping a couple relocate from Epsom, London to Honiton in Devon. The job was arranged by their daughters, who wanted their parents living closer to them. This was the second job we’d carried out for the family, so there was already a strong sense of trust and familiarity that helped everything get off to a smooth start.
The clients asked for our full packing and removals service – which involves the careful packing of the entire contents of the house, loading the vans, and transporting everything to the new location. The property in Honiton was being converted into a bungalow-style layout, so we needed to ensure every part of the move was well-organised and efficient.
Planning for a smooth, two-day relocation
We carried out the move across two days to give the clients a stress-free experience. On the first day, we focused on packing and loading the majority of the items. Once everything was safely secured in the vans, we stayed overnight at a local hotel. This allowed us to avoid a long return drive and be well-rested for the final stage of the move.
The following morning, we returned to collect the last few remaining items – including the beds – before setting off for Honiton. On arrival, we unloaded everything into the new home, making sure items were placed in the correct rooms. With the home set up as a bungalow, it was important to get everything positioned properly to make unpacking and settling in as easy as possible.
Reliable updates and clear communication
Throughout the move, our office team kept in regular contact with the family. Emma provided updates while we travelled to and from the property, so the clients always knew where we were and how things were progressing. That level of communication was especially helpful while travelling over such a long distance.
The family later told us how much they appreciated having that clear line of contact during both days of the move. It gave them peace of mind and helped everything feel more manageable, even with the emotional side of relocating parents to a new home.
