A Move From Stevenage to Lyme Regis
We were recently contacted by a customer who needed help moving the contents of two storage units in Stevenage to their new home in Lyme Regis.
Since we couldn’t visit the units beforehand, we got in touch with the storage provider, Shurgard, to confirm the exact unit sizes. That gave us all the information we needed to assign the right team and vehicle, making sure everything went to plan on moving day.
Early start from Sidmouth
We set off from our Sidmouth yard bright and early at 5:45am, arriving at the Stevenage site just after 9am. Apart from the usual slow spots on the M25, the journey was smooth and straightforward. Once we got on site, we assessed the situation and got ready to start loading – only to discover a small issue: both keys the customer had given us opened the same unit! The second unit was still locked.
Quick thinking, quick fix
Rather than bothering the customer without a solution, we spoke to the team in the site office. They were happy to help and said they’d remove the lock for us as soon as the customer confirmed via email.
While we waited, we got to work loading the first unit. As it turned out, the timing couldn’t have been better – the second lock came off just as we were finishing the first load, so we were able to keep things moving without delay.
Smooth arrival and unload in Lyme Regis
By 11:30am, we were back on the road and heading southwest. We texted the customer with our estimated arrival time and asked if they could hold a couple of parking spaces for us using their own cars, just to make unloading easier.
We pulled up at the property around 3:30pm and introduced ourselves. The customer gave us a quick tour so we’d know where everything needed to go, and we got straight to work. Unloading went smoothly and was all wrapped up by 5:10pm.

The customer was thrilled with how the move went from start to finish, appreciating our clear communication, problem-solving, and the care we took throughout the day. Not long after we finished, they left us a glowing 5-star review on Google – which is always great to see and a real credit to the team.
